A-Visa

Think of this as the “Ambassador” visa with a couple variations.

A-1 Visa

The A-1 Visas are generally issued to ambassadors, public ministers, or career diplomatic/consular officers who have been accredited by a foreign government recognized by the United States plus the members of that person’s immediate family.

A-2 Visa

The A-2 Visas can be issued, based upon reciprocity, to other accredited officials and employees of foreign governments recognized by the United States, plus the members of their immediate family.

A-3 Visa

The A-3 Visas are allowed, based on reciprocity, for attendants, servants, personal employees, plus immediate family members, of the officials and employees who have A-1 Visa or A-2 Visa status.
